A woman named Ruth wrote to us yesterday. She had a problem with her Vista 350, and asked if we could help. Turns out if you type “Vista Bell 350″ into Google, SensoryMetrics comes up 2nd!

Well, as the phone’s co-inventor, of course I can help! Ruth couldn’t remember how to unlock the phone’s directory. This feature - when turned on - prevents anyone from deleting your directory. It’s especially useful if you have kids or if you’re accident prone! The lock feature is accessed from the Options key. To unlock the directory simply scroll down the Options list and select Unlock Directory. Super easy.

Makes me wonder why Bell doesn’t have a blog to deal with their customers!

   The 350s are now manufactured by a company called Aastra. You can even order refurbished 350s for about 50 bucks… they ship to the US.

   this is what some people do… (I don’t have voice mail)

   Press *98 on your telephone, followed by your password.
   Respond to the voice prompts in the following order: 4, 3, 1, 2.
   Record your new greeting.
   Press # to save your changes and exit.

   I assume you played with the volume control when the phone is onhook. (not on a call…) Does the speaker work?

   Not too many other things to try: maybe changing the ring tone (Option 3)…

   Could be a “dead ringer” hey, wasn’t that a movie?

    All Dogs Go To Heaven… and so do pixels! There’s not much you can do. The screen is not really replaceable. Your screen may not necessarily lose any more pixels - unless there’s a crack in the glass or something serious like that.

    Yeah, they go bad after a while. Mine went bad after 10 years but then it was a prototype of the phone so I probably shouldn’t complain.
    I think your only option will be to buy a new phone.

    I replaced mine with a cordless Panasonic Dect 6.0. They’re just coming onto the market in Canada. I ordered mine online from the U.S. last year.

    Phone works perfectly except the ringer is so loud. Tried options 1 2 3 and they sound fine when you play them but when the phone rings it is piercing.and much louder than the sounds from the option selections.

    Hi Marjo - just press the volume bar to adjust the volume when the phone is on hook (not ringing or connected)

    Hi - We have a 350 from Bell Canada. At full volume, we have difficulty hearing on the handset … not sure if there is a fix for this or if its time to get a new phone?
