CarPooling and Pho Soup: the genesis of a startup

June 7th, 2007 by Mitch Brisebois

phosoup.jpgMyCarpoolStation co-founder and CEO Philippe Chrun shared with us how he got the idea for the site:

Well MyCarpoolStation.com (originally called TravelerConnect) started many, many moons ago in summer 2004 over a bowl of vietnamese Pho soup in Ville St-Laurent. The problem? Why can’t you carpool back from University instead of spending $ on the GreyHound, said my dad. The answer? I don’t know, but there should be a mainstream carpooling website… we should create the world’s #1 carpooling website.

By the way, the Montreal-based company is actively looking for funding and dev help to grow to next level and launch their second generation product. Give Philippe a call if you’re interested!
