The navigation at the popular site SearchEngineLand is very normal – a set of buttons to access the content categories. The last button is labelled “Don’t Click Here”. Human nature is as human nature does… in three weeks the page had 1,713 unique page views.
If you’re designing a product that has a potentially destructive feature – simply warning the user not to do it won’t be very effective!
If you’re designing “road danger” warnings, some people drive Jeeps…

UPDATE: Barely a few hours after this post, the mystery of the “don’t Click Here” button was finally revealed. It was a holding spot for Sphinn – a new social bookmarking site aimed at interactive marketing folks who want to put their own spin on related topics. Even though it looks like it should be pronounced sFin…it’s actually sPin… according to the creators spin.com was already taken… (huh, like ya Spin – the music zine…)
