Al Qaeda 2.0: Improving terrorist UX worldwide!
We all love to hate terrorists. But a small news item last week in an Isreali website made me realize that Al Qaedans are just like everybody else when it comes to the whiz-bang design of web 2.0 apps. Planned for November 11th, Al Qaeda apparently tried to launch a massive Denial of Service attack on all sorts of sites, including major financial institutions (Guess they didn’t realize the 11th was a Sunday.)
This type of attack needs technical savvy, no??? Not anymore. Since the release of “Electronic Jihad 2.0″, such things are now child’s play.
TechPin describes the improvement over Electronic Jihad 1.5 :
Electronic Jihad 2.0 software makes it very easy to coordinate a denial of service attack and you simply select the level of bandwidth you wish to use and hit ‘attack,’ and the attack is launched. It’s really down to script kiddie level. What version 2 brings new is the improvement of the targeting technique, which now it works automatically, enabling terrorists to coordinate assaults better.
Just wondering if the developers used User-centric design best practices? Is this a hosted application?Software as a Service? More importantly, does it run on Vista?
BTW – Who knows if this screen shot is real. The web site listed doesn’t appear to be functional.
UPDATE: Bad design – I just realized there’s an “Attack” button but no “Cancel”…
