Phone Pranks: “Is your Home Server running?”
“Mrs Jones, is your refrigerator running? -Yes it is… Better catch it!” Very lame telephone prank.
Classic telephone pranks have mostly disappeared – due mostly to caller ID. Once – way back in time – my friends and I taped the neighbour’s dog barking madly at 3 o’clock in the morning… I called the neighbour the next day – at the same time to playback the recording. Did it again the next day. It worked – the dog barking problem was solved.
When I was a teen , my friends and I listened to GO14 – an Ottawa AM hits radio station. they had phone-in contests (example: 12th caller gets tickets to Kiss concert).. We discovered that with rotary phones, dialing 6 of the 7 numbers guaranteed you a spot into the radio station. When you heard the cue… dial the last number and you were in!
