The Code Factory Sets Up Shop: Open source papaya

codefactory.jpgSM friend Ian Graham has just announced the lease signing of The Code Factory in Ottawa. It’s located downtown above the Green Papaya – a Queen street Thai restaurant. The two story factory will be a permanent and temporary home for a bunch of local startups. As a bonus, we like the new “Deco” logo!

Since Ian signed the lease on February 29th, yearly renewals occur only every 4 years! Congratulations!

thank you for the post Mitch.

One item near the top of my “to do” list once the space is up and running is to start an “Open Source” centre. I am going around chatting to various stakeholders to get ideas on how best implement. When you think about it Ottawa has an abundance of talent in the Open Source arena, consider: Carleton University, The Eclipse Foundation, World class Ruby development plus a whole bunch of other stuff.

    thanks again, Ian
