SensDol: Our contender in the Big Orange Internet Balloon Race
It’s really hard finding time-wasting activities on the interweb, isn’t? Well, the UK’s orangest telco – Orange – is hosting an internet balloon race… Our humble dolphin named SensDol is trainin’ & carb’n up. The race starts in only 6 days (June 22nd). To make your balloon travel faster, you need to click through a bunch of sites submitted by users. You can also sign up friends and receive some energy boosts. Orange even throws in a bunch of prizes including a trip to Ibiza – the stunning Spanish island resort.
It’s a clever “viral” campaign. I especially like that you can submit your own site for the race landscape. The only down-side is the lack of customization available for the balloons.
Apparently, Greenpeace is protesting the event, claiming that the popped virtual balloons will be swallowed by virtual whales and they’ll die!
