Logo Disaster: France’s trans-gendered moose-cow

October 3rd, 2008 by Mitch Brisebois

This year, Quebec City marked its 400th anniversary.  To help celebrate, the country of France created this logo featuring a cow with a caribou head.   It was meant to showcase France’s dairy heritage with Quebec’s vast wilderness.  Although its name was “Vachibou” it should have been called Vachiboo-boo.

First, the antlers are of moose – not caribou.  Second, it seems odd that a female cow would feature male moose antlers.  This makes for an interesting trans-gendered moose-cow mascot!

Apparently, embarrassed French officials killed the logo project amid howls of laughter from Quebec City organizers.
