National Do Not Call List a Big Web Success

Canada’s new National Do Not Call List has been a huge success with over 2.7 million registrations within a single week.  Registering your phone number on their site is super easy.  The only hiccup is that you’ll be faced with a captcha.  You know, one of those squiggly box of letters that you have to type out.

Earlier the phone rings, when I picked it up, an automated voice on the other end says:

“You’ve won a..”

Click.  After hanging up, I popped open the laptop and clicked over to the DNCL site and registered my number.  It took me less time to register than it did to walk over to pick up the ringing phone.

Update: yeah doesn’t seem to have made that much of a difference, I still get unwanted calls.
