DemoCamps & Evil Peanut Butter
For the past couple years, I’ve been urging my friends from around the world to attend BarCamps and DemoCamps. The Camps have been a user-driven phenomenon. Signing up for participation has been through PeanutButterWiki - one of the pioneers of the platform. Although I’m a big fan of PB Wiki, its use as an event sign up tool is very lacking. Signing up to an event shouldn’t require logging in and editing code… Even professional programmers get lost! Evil PBWiki!
I’m surprised no one has yet to create a wiki platform “for the rest of us”. Allow easy registration, edit and add modes. Simple, no? Got an idea - I’m sure our friend Rick would love to hear it!
So… speaking of camps… If you’re in the Beautiful city of Ottawa, Canada on December 1st - check out DemoCamp 11 at the fantastical Velvet Lounge! I’m going… but this version of PBwiki has me lost for registration!
Otherwise - get your ass over to Sydney Australia for BarCamp4 - an all-day event which is even going green!
By the way - this screenshot shows the secret password to all worldwide camps… SHHHHH!
