Motto-Tripping Coast to Coast

Business mottos are tough to do. Sensorymetrics has used “re-inventing the User Experience” for 4 years… I’ve ridiculed Nortel’s recent effort “This is the way…this is Nortel“… this is the wrong way…

Since companies in North America are now all state-owned, and this is a map-weekend theme… let’s look at Canadian Provincial (compiled by Bill Casselman) and US states (as depicted in Strange Maps).

We extend Strange Maps’ question, which Province would you trust?

Newfoundland and Labrador: Seek ye first the kingdom of God
Prince Edward Island: a small place next to a vast place
Nova Scotia: One defends and the other conquers
New Brunswick: She restored hope
Quebec: Je Me Souviens
Ontario: As she began loyal, thus she remains
Manitoba: Glorious and free
Saskatchewan: From many peoples comes our strength
Alberta: Strong and free
British Columbia: Splendor Undiminished
Nunavut: Our land is our strength
North West Territories: none
Yukon: none

Well – those are all pretty lame. No wonder NWT and Yukon don’t bother… although I suggest that “Yukon Gold Tubers Make Great French Fries” is pretty catchy!

For our southern neighbours – this map spells it all out! “Live Free Or Die” is indeed the best motto ever written!
