Retro-Trend: Design hip goes print
So what are those young, talented, creative, entrepreneurial designers doing in the internet age? Publishing high-end, glossy print magazines!
First up is Display Canadian Design. Their first edition launch was this December. Its mandate is to showcase Canadian coolness. The only uncool thing about Display is trying to buy a copy online…

In New York, some very talented designers have now produced two print editions of COILHOUSE. Its mission is to inform, inspire and infect: a love letter to alternative culture. Their blog is outstanding.

Display and Coilhouse remind me of my favourite nouveau-net print mag: Mondo2000. Art mashes net – late 80s to mid 90s – including the Boing Boing crew, and created by the madcap R U Sirius.
I love print magazines showcasing the avant-guarde of technology and art. Support them. Buy a copy! Keep them safe for future generations.
Are there any similar magazines appearing in your region?

Thanks for the shout-out! We love Mondo, too. We did an interview with RU Sirius in Issue 02 and this is our Mondo 2000 tribute post:
