Steorn’s Perpetual Motion Still in Motion

Update Dec. 27 2009: Steorn’s Orbo Successfully Replicated. This independent replication and demonstration of Steorn’s Orbo a.k.a. magnet motor by Jean-Louis Naudin helps confirm that something of interest is happening : http://jnaudin.free.fr/steorn/indexen.htm But how much energy does this device generate?

Steorn is back in the news again.  This company claims that it has created a device named Orbo that can harness energy out of thin air using magnets. You turn it on and it produces clean free energy without any input, only output. Where is the energy coming from? No one knows yet, it might be from the earth’s magnetic field or from some other dimension. Perhaps it is somehow harnessing zero point energy.

steornSteorn has been in stealth mode ever since a publicized demo of Orbo failed last summer. The device malfunctioned for some reason or another and most of us thought that was an end to that. However, a handful of highly qualified engineers have been poking and prodding this Orbo device to measure whether or not it actually produces energy from nothing as claimed. Some believed that Steorn’s CEO Sean McCarthy is simply delusional. Now it would seem his delusions are either infectious or that the device is really working according to those few that have tested it.

For Steorn, it’s now a race to teach others about this incredible technology. The plan is to tour the Universities around the world to promote the ideas and concepts and to get others to start building their own versions of this device. As I understand, the engines can be scaled; small Orbo engines would produce a small amount of energy and larger machines would produce more energy.

Steorn does not plan on manufacturing Orbo machines, it only plans on licensing out the technology. However, it looks like it will be selling a suite of measurement tools and probes.   Yeah, I know, I wouldn’t buy their measuring tools unless I could first buy a working Orbo engine.

The proof will be in the pudding. So for sceptics, myself included, it won’t be until we can buy one of these engines, turn it on and crank out some free clean electricity before we’ll know for sure that this is really happening without any tricks.
