Turn your MegaPixel into a GigaPixel

With the GigaPan EPIC system you can use your low-res point and shoot digital camera to capture super high-resolution panoramas.

gigapanThe robo-pan tripod takes a whole bunch of pictures for you so that you can stitch them all together and create a monster sized image that you can then upload to the web for all to see.  Want to see who was at President Obama’s inauguration?

B.T.W. Waldo’s on the far right behind the guy with the camera ;-)

Stitching images together to create a much larger image is surprisingly easy with Photoshop or the like. Canon has a great stitcher application.  The software will stretch and distort the images to help fit the perspective of the pan.  Here’s the top of Mount Wellington in Tasmania taken from a few photos stitched together.
