Ideally, you wouldn’t need to touch your screen, just lift your hands a few inches above your keyboard. Sure going virtual ‘game’ mode won’t be for everybody, but I sure look forward to it.

As much as I like using my Wacom tablet, it’s ultimately awkward and limiting depending on my task, word processing and web use are my primary activities and keyboard plus gestures would be really nice to have. With the iPhone and iPod touch, Apple is rethinking their user interface to match these new input mechanisms (touch, gesture). I’m looking forward to my first hands on experience with the iPod touch in a couple of weeks.

Using gestures to interface with your computer should be a natural change for people. Many of us are already used to talking with our hands. Of course, this is all really old news, there’s been talk of using iSight in this way for some time and now iSight is built into to every new iMac. So where’s the new software interface?
